Q&A

What will my charter include?

Your day of fishing includes:  Amazing sights of Alaska, your own private boat, top quality bait, fishing tackle,  Raingear, beverages (non-alcoholic), as much instruction as you need, knowledge of each salmon species and fishing grounds with plenty of great memories and hopefully a boat load of fish!!

What body of water will we be fishing in?

The Pacific Ocean boarders Southeast Alaska and is the largest of the Earth’s oceanic divisions. Mooring out of Knudson Cove Marine we fish in Clover Pass, Clarence Strait and Behm Canale.

How is Ketchikan’s weather during the summer?

Ketchikan summer months temperature can range from 50 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Natures winds, rain & sunny days are very unpredictable.  Always wear a few layers of clothing relevant to the day’s forecast. We do provide some raingear for those who may have forgot to pack theirs.

When should I reserve my trip?

Some of our repeat clients will book up to a year in advance to make sure they get the exact dates they desire but we also have some that book a few months before. The earlier the better since our booking do fill up pretty early on in the year. If you are booking several dates in a row we do encourage booking those early so we can accommodate your back to back dates.

Do you offer lodging for your guest?

We work with and charter out of Knudson Cove Marina. They have a great variety of accommodations and our boat is just steps from your door.

What wildlife could we see from our charter boat?

You will always be surprised in Alaska when is comes to wildlife. After all it is Wild! Throughout the year, Ketchikan is home to eagles, raven, black bear, sitka black tailed deer, seals, sea lions, porpoise, orcas and humpback whales. Make sure to bring your camera, you wouldn’t want to miss out on seeing one of these!

My husband wants to go on a charter, I want to go out on the boat but I am not interested in fishing.  Can I still book a trip for the both of us?

Absolutely, each person on board, other then the crew, has to be a paying customer per-USCG regulations but their is no rule saying you have to fish. Trust us, Alaska is so beautiful sitting back and enjoying the vast beauty this State has to offer is well worth the adventure.

How much experience do I have to have?

The only required experience is to have fun! We share our knowledge of this sport with you to make is easy for you to reeling in your fish.  Haven’t fished before? Great! It only gets better and better.

Can we bring children on a charter?

YES! Being Grandparents we know how exciting this fishing experience can be for your little ones and we want them to enjoy it just as much as you do. We carry child life jackets as well.

We have a large family, how do we go about booking a trip?

The more family the more fish you get to take home! Our vessel is licensed to carry 6 passengers not including the crew. If you have a family larger then 6 we can arrange for another boat to join us to accommodate your needs.

What is your refund/cancellation policy?

A 30% *Non-Refundable deposit is due to hold you reservation dates. Price is subject to change without notice until dates are booked. Final payment is due at the end of your trip. Accepting Cash, Checks, & all Major Credit Cards (3.5% Processing fee when paying with Credit Cards).

Hello, We will be in Ketchikan from June 13 – 17 and are interested in taking our 13 year old son on his first salmon fishing trip. Do you have availability on the above dates? You were recommended to us by the owners of the VRBO we are staying in, Ray and Kathy.

    Best,

    Dahy McIntosh
